2:12 p.m. — KRON4’s sister station FOX 40 in Sacramento identified the victim in the shooting as Michelle Gonzales, 29.

11:42 a.m. “Again, this is not the way we wanted this to end,” says SJPD spokesperson, Sergeant Christian Camarillo.

11:41 a.m. – “This was a very violent, armed individual on our city streets,” says SJPD spokesperson, Sergeant Christian Camarillo.

11:03 a.m. – San Jose Police Media Relations announced in a tweet that the suspect died at a local hospital.

9:33 a.m. – No officers were struck by gunfire or injured by the suspect, a tweet from the SJPD states.

9:15 a.m. – Sgt. Christian Camarillo of the SJPD will be providing an update after 11:30 a.m., which is expected to be the last of the day.

8:12 a.m. – The San Jose Police Department gave an update. Some 60-70 officers were involved in the response, a spokesperson stated. Watch video of the press conference below:

7:56 a.m. – The suspect was shot by police, according to a tweet from the SJPD, after officers allege he pointed a firearm at special operations personnel. He was transported to the hospital.

7:35 a.m. – KRON4’s Sara Stinson heard several flash-bangs and confirmed with Modesto police the victim there was a 29-year-old woman killed on the 2900 block of Ramsey Drive. The standoff follows an hourlong CHP pursuit.

7:05 a.m. – KRON4’s Sara Stinson has the latest on the double homicide suspect. California Highway Patrol followed him to the neighborhood where he is barricaded on his way back from Modesto, Stinson reports.

6:54 a.m. – The suspect not only killed a man last night in San Jose, police told KRON4, but also a woman in Modesto.

6:30 a.m. – KRON4’s Sara Stinson is on the scene, and she reports that the suspect — who’d been in a home until now — is in a shed. Watch her most report below:

5:29 a.m. – The suspect police believe to be responsible for yesterday’s homicide has barricaded himself in the 100 block of Bendorf Drive, according to a tweet from the San Jose Police Department.

He fired at officers during a pursuit, according to the tweet.

“Some residents in the area have been evacuated due to additional shots being fired by the suspect during the barricade,” another tweet reads. “He was shooting at officers and is armed and dangerous.”

Traffic in the area is being rerouted, the SJPD concluded.

5:10 a.m. – SAN JOSE (KRON) – A shooting last night in San Jose is now the 17th homicide of the year, according to a Wednesday morning tweet from the police department.

The shooting was in the 1400 block of Mt. Shasta Drive around 7 p.m., police stated. There was one adult male victim, who was transported to the hospital with a life threatening injury and later died.

Police stated in the tweet that a press release is forthcoming.
