OAKLAND, Calif. (KRON) — Firefighters extinguished a large encampment fire early Wednesday morning in Oakland.

The fire was at E 12th St and 17th Ave, OaklandFireLive tweeted at 5:49 a.m. It was contained to four dwellings and one van, which was parked nearby, the Oakland Fire Department said.

The firefighters on the scene had requested an additional engine and truck to get it under control.

Three people were displaced and no injuries were reported, the fire department said. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
