A man has been arrested in Half Moon Bay for a rape reported in May of last year, according to San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect, identified as 43-year-old Andres Campos from Half Moon Bay, was arrested by deputies on Feb. 21.
Officials say that Campos’ bail is set to $2.4 million.
According to authorities, around 10 a.m. on May 31, 2018, a victim reported the rape at a sheriffs substation.
Campos raped the victim the night before around 11 p.m., the victim told sheriffs.
Officials say Campos got the victim overly intoxicated and once she was unable to help herself, he took advantage by raping and sexually assaulting her.
Following a thorough investigation, Campos has been charged with two counts of rape by force or fear, two counts of assault with intent to commit sodomy, residential burglary, and rape of a drugged victim.
