Map: Restaurants, stores possibly exposed to measles in Santa Clara County

Bay Area

Health officials are warning residents of Santa Clara County after a traveler visiting the area tested positive for measles.

The international traveler visited restaurants, stores and tourist sites while infectious between March 16 and March 23, according to officials.

People who are not immune to measles and visited those sites may be at risk of developing measles and should watch for symptoms of the illness.

Most people who received the measles vaccination are protected. However, parents of unvaccinated children, unvaccinated adults, and those with weakened immune systems are advised to review the list of sites and times.

Common symptoms of measles include fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, and a rash, which can appear 7 to 21 days after the exposure.
