More license plate readers could be coming to Piedmont

Bay Area

PIEDMONT (KRON) – City Council in Piedmont on Monday will decide whether to add license plate reading cameras to four more intersections in the city.

The city currently has 39 cameras at 15 intersections that serve as entry points to and from the city of Oakland.

City Council says the cameras have already proven useful in helping police solve crimes in the city.

The vote takes place at 7:30 p.m.
