Multi-story house catches fire in Los Altos Hills, residents unharmed

A house fire that broke out early Saturday morning in Los Altos Hills was controlled within hours by Santa Clara County firefighters. 

The fire started around 2:34 a.m. in a home on the 27000 block of Via Ventana in Los Altos Hills.

Firefighters say a multi-story house was on fire including the garage and surrounding landscape.

According to authorities, everyone was able to escape unharmed.

Around 4 a.m. the fire had been controlled. 

Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire, but are saying it is not being considered as suspicious. 

Santa Clara County Fire Department released a report saying:

“Functioning smoke alarms likely contributed to the safe evacuation of the residents during the early stages of the fire.”
