SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A man was rescued from under Pier 15 Thursday morning, according to a tweet from the San Francisco Fire Department. Members of the San Francisco Fire Department responded and performed a bay rescue of one victim, the tweet states. The victim was successfully rescued and is being evaluated.

The person rescued was described as an adult male by SFFD. At the time of the rescue, he was fully clothed and in the water screaming for help. It is not yet known how he wound up in the water.

He was at the end of the pier and spent about 10 minutes in the water. First responders were notified by a 911 caller who heard the man screaming. An SF Ferry boat operator also observed the man in the water and called it in, an SFFD spokesperson told KRON4.
