Passengers upset after stuck on plane diverted to Oakland

OAKLAND (KRON) - Two passengers onboard a plane that was diverted to Oakland Airport Thursday were arrested after causing a disturbance.

AeroMexico Flight 622 from Guadalajara, Mexico was bound for San Francisco International Airport when it was forced to land in Oakland around 10:30 a.m. because of heavy fog.

The plane sat on the tarmac for four hours and authorities say two passengers became unruly and threatened to exit the plane.

Officers were called to the scene and the two passengers were detained.

Flying time from Guadalajara to Mexico is about four hours.

Passengers didn't expect they would be stuck on the plane for an additional four hours after landing in Oakland.

One woman told KRON4 that the flight crew didn't give them any answers nor were they given food or water.

She said, "that shouldn't ever happen to anybody, ever."

By 3:20 passengers were allowed to deplane and go through customs.

One person had difficulty breathing on the flight and requested medical attention.
