Petaluma police arrests student for bomb threat at junior high school

PETALUMA, Calif. (KRON) — Petaluma Police Department made an arrest regarding a bomb threat made Friday morning at Petaluma Junior High School, authorities said in a press release.

Police arrested a 13-year-old PJHS student who was cited and released to a parent.

The threat was made using an anonymous mobile app.

Students and staff moved and evacuated to a safe area while Petaluma police and California Highway Patrol Bomb Detection K-9s searched the school.

Authorities did not find any devices, and students and staff returned to school.

The threat is still being investigated at this time.
