PLEASANTON, Calif. (KRON) – A shooting involving police was reported in Pleasanton on Thursday afternoon.
Police are asking residents to avoid the area of Owens Drive and Willow Road.
Around 11:51 a.m., police received reports from a victim of a domestic violence situation at 4899 Willow Road.
When police arrived, the suspect was inside an apartment. The suspect eventually came out with a knife, police say.
Authorities say two officers then fired their guns.
“They were talking on the loudspeaker “come out, come out” and he just wasn’t at all and I came back inside. Then when I came back out here that’s when the action started,” Austin Faust said.
Witness Austin Faust stays here at the Galloway Apartments and watched this all unfold.
“That’s when they started to break the window down and throw a flashbang and that’s when he came out and they shot at him,” Faust said.
The suspect died on the scene. The two officers were not injured.
No other details have been reported at this time.
As police continue their investigation, more information will be released.
