Police: Man arrested in Richmond for assaulting woman

Police in Richmond arrested a man for assaulting a woman before fleeing the scene from officers. 

Police say it’s what she did next that helped them find her. 

911 dispatch in Richmond received a call with a woman crying and a man yelling in the background. Luckily, authorities were able to track the location from the phone. 

When officers arrived on the scene, the victim had serious injuries to her face and the suspect was trying to force her into the car. 

This is when the suspect tried to flee the area in a car and refused to stop for officers.

Following a short pursuit, the man stopped and police were able to take him into custody.
