WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (KRON) — The Walnut Creek Police Department has cleared the campus of Las Lomas High School after the school received an unconfirmed threat earlier Friday. Law enforcement conducted a search of the Walnut Creek school following reports of an active shooter on campus Friday afternoon that proved to be unfounded.

Police said they found no evidence of a shooter at the school. Walnut Creek PD will continue to investigate the origin of the threat, police said. Police worked with staff to release students for the day at 1:05 p.m.

WCPD detectives are investigating where the threat came from. Anyone who has information about the person that made the threat is asked to call WCPD.

Las Lomas High is located on the 1400 block of South Main Street.
