A 45-year-old woman has been arrested in San Bruno on Wednesday morning for charges related to human trafficking, according to the San Bruno Police Department.

The woman, identified as Maria Delosreyes, was involved in a 2016 human trafficking investigation.

Detectives say both her and her husband brought a woman from another country to the United States. They are said to have treated her like a slave and threatened her if she did not comply.

Delosreyes and her husband allegedly threatened the woman with deportation and consequences to her family back home.

Authorities say they learned of the incident in 2016 before Delosreyes and her husband left the country.

About 2 years later, detectives learned that Delosreyes came back to the US.

A warrant for her arrest was obtained and detectives were able to take her into custody.

It is believed that Delosreyes’ husband is still in the Philippines.

If you have information on the case, you are asked to contact the San Bruno Police Department at (650) 616-7100.
