SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — San Francisco police say officers found human remains while investigating the case of a missing 73-year-old man Monday morning in the city’s Outer Mission neighborhood.
According to police, 73-year-old Benedict Ching, was reported missing just before noon on Monday from the 100 block of Del Monte Street.
Police discovered human remains at the property while investigating the missing persons case and the department’s homicide unit is now investigating.

Police say responding officers determined there were “suspicious circumstances” surrounding the initial missing person case.
The FBI is also assisting in the investigation.
Police have not identified the remains or linked them to the missing 73-year-old man.
Police are still working to determine the cause of the death and identity of the human remains found.
