Santa Rita Jail no longer allowing visitors due to rise in COVID cases

ALAMEDA COUNTY, Calif. (KRON) — In-person visits are no longer allowed at the Alameda County Santa Rita Jail due a rise in COVID-19 cases, authorities announced Friday.

Effective immediately, visitors are not allowed at the jail.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a statement posted to Twitter.

No other details were immediately released.
