A man was arrested in Santa Rosa after he allegedly sexually assaulted a young girl, police said.

Police arrested Miguel Flores-Gonzalez, a 34-year-old resident of Santa Rosa, on a suspicion of Lewd Act with a Child by Force.

On Tuesday, police received a call regarding a recent sexual assault of a child under the age of 14, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.

A detective from the Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Team was immediately assigned to investigate.

The girl told detectives that a man living in her home made her get into bed with him, then touched her chest underneath her shirt, according to police.

Police say alternate housing was arranged for the girl as they continued to investigate.

Early Thursday morning, detectives waited for the suspect to leave his residence in the 1500 block of Sebastopol Road.

Authorities say they saw Flores-Gonzalez driving away from the home at around 8:30 a.m.

A patrol officer stopped the car and Flores-Gonzalez was arrested.

He was interviewed at the police department and subsequently booked at the Sonoma County Jail.

Flores-Gonzalez’ bail was set at $250,000.
