A 24-year-old man has been arrested in San Jose for molesting and performing sexual acts with a girl under the age of 18-years-old, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department.

On Saturday around 4:46 p.m. deputies received a report of a prior sexual assault of a minor.

Officials say the victims’ mother reached out as she believed her daughter was being sexually assaulted.

An investigation ensued, leading to the arrest of 24-year-old Jansen Estrada on Monday for various sexual charges.

Officials say that Estrada is a soccer coach at Prospect High School in Saratoga, as well as an 8th-grade tutor in San Jose at Moreland Middle School and Easterbrook Discovery School.

Authorities determined that an intimate relationship between Estrada and a 14-year-old girl on the soccer team he coached began, which became sexual and involved crimes. This includes oral copulation, penetration with foreign objects, and sexual battery.

Estrada has been booked into the Main Jail without incident.

An investigation continues as the department is working with the schools and district to be sure that no other victims have been affected.

“It is a deplorable act to be in a position of power and prey on the innocence of a young girl. As a law enforcement agency, we are committed to protect those who are most vulnerable. This is a reminder to have open dialogue with your children and stay vigilant by monitoring their activity,” said Sheriff Laurie Smith.

The sheriff’s department asks you to call (408) 808-4500 if you have any information on the case.
