BART police announced on Monday that the suspect sought in a fatal attack at the Bay Fair BART station last weekend has been arrested.

Police say 24-year-old Jashawn Combs of Fremont turned himself into police today after surveillance photos of him circulated online following the deadly attack that claimed the life of 47-year-old Don Stevens.

The attack on Stevens happened early in the morning on July 21.

According to police, Combs hit Stevens with a closed fist on the side of his head. After he was hit, Stevens collapsed to the ground and fell on the platform.

Officers performed CPR on Stevens until paramedics arrived. He was taken to a hospital but was later declared brain dead.

The arrest of Combs now indicates all suspects in connection with three homicides involving the BART system in the last week and a half have been apprehended, officials said.
