Suspects in armed home invasion, officer-involved shooting in Hayward at large

HAYWARD (KRON) - Hayward police have released photos of outstanding suspects in connection with an armed home invasion and an officer-involved shooting. 

According to the Hayward Police Department, the armed home invasion happened in the 28000 block of Capitola Street in Hayward the afternoon of May 13. 

Police said the two victims were at home when two armed suspects entered their home and threatened them with their guns as they stole valuables from the home. 

One of the victims was able to call police and when officers arrived, they saw both suspects flee from the home and saw one of them point a gun at the officers. 

That caused three officers to fire at the suspects, officials said. 

The suspects were able to flee the scene in a 2-door black Honda Accord. 

Authorities describe the suspects as African-American about 5'11" tall and weighing around 150 to 160 pounds. 

The investigation is ongoing.
