Surveillance video: Break-in at Oakland's Cat Town Cafe

OAKLAND (KRON) - UPDATE: London the missing cat has been found.

A cat is missing after a man broke into Oakland's Cat Town early Friday morning.

Surveillance video shows the man breaking a window at the nonprofit cat rescue and cafe.

The cats scattered and two of them escaped out the broken window.

The cat seen escaping in the video was found in at a neighboring construction site and returned by a worker.

Staff at Cat Town say they are actively searching for the missing cat and suspect that he is hiding on the premises.

"We have years of experience finding lost cats, and are confident that we can find him," Cat Town said on Facebook.

The rest of the cats and all the staff are safe.

It's unclear if the man stole anything.

The adoption center will be closed as they work to replace the two broken windows. The RAWR Coffee bar will remain open.

Cat Town is collecting donations to help fortify itself in case of future break-ins. Click here to donate
