OAKLAND (KRON)—The California Highway Patrol has found a body floating face down Thursday in a waterway near Interstate 880 in Oakland.
The CHP says it is connected to a solo car crash that happened in the morning.
A Caltrans worker found the body in the water on 66th Avenue and Oakport Street around 11:30 a.m., according to the CHP.
A solo car crash was reported in the area near the Oakland Coliseum around 5:45 a.m. A silver pick-up truck hit a guard rail, the CHP said.
Authorities were unable to locate the driver because it was still dark outside at the time of the crash.
The Alameda County Coroner’s Office and the CHP are at the scene investigating.
