MONTEREY COUNTY (BCN) — A naked man found dead Tuesday next to train tracks north of King City might have fallen from a nearby cliff, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.

The man has been identified as 32-year-old Isidro Jimenez of Greenfield and investigators haven’t found evidence indicating foul play in his death, sheriff’s Sgt. Kathy Palazzolo said.

Amtrak officials alerted deputies of a body near the train tracks by Metz Road around 12:40 p.m. Tuesday, Palazzolo said.

Responding deputies found an unclothed man who was pronounced dead at the scene, she said.

It appeared the man fell from some cliffs in the area and struck his head, according to Palazzolo.

Investigators are awaiting toxicology reports to determine if alcohol played a role in the death, she said.

Detectives believe Jimenez was the same person who was reportedly naked on a road in the area on Monday around 10:30 p.m., Palazzolo said.

Deputies arrived to the scene but were unable to locate anyone, she said.
