Bay Area's first Shake Shack opening in October

PALO ALTO (KRON) - Foodies, rejoice!

The long-awaited opening of the Bay Area' very first Shake Shack is finally upon us.

The restaurant will be open late October (specific date TBA) and is located at 180 El Camino Real in the Stanford Shopping Center.

If you've never been to a Shake Shack, classic menu items include the ShackBurger, crinkle-cut fries, and hand-spun shakes, and more.

As an added bonus, this location will also offer Bay Area-specific goodies made with local ingredients.

No specifics on what exactly that will be, but we could speculate Dutch Crunch buns, or Cowgirl Creamery cheese, perhaps?

Whatever it is, it'll just be a few more weeks until you find out.

Back in January when we first told you about this exciting news, representatives told us they're also considering locations in Marin County and San Francisco's Marina District.

There are 9 other locations in California, most of them in the southern region.
