LOS ANGELES, Calif. (KRON) – Dr. Dre is at an ICU in Los Angeles after suffering a brain aneurysm, according to TMZ.
The report says Dre was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Monday.
Dre released a statement on his Instagram on Tuesday night saying:
“Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes. I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon. Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!”
The rapper, whose real name is Andre Young, started his career as a member of the World Class Wreckin’ Cru before founding rap group N.W.A.
He released his first solo album, “The Chronic,” in 1992.
Doctors do not know what caused the aneurysm.
