FRESNO, California (KSEE) – More details are emerging about a little known Fresno gang that was the target of a large scale series of arrests. 37 were taken into custody, 9 are being indicted by a grand jury.
Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer said during a press conference that the way the gang managed to stay off the radar was by hitting the same victims multiple times.
Police say gang members carried out a number of rapes. 31- year old Benjamin Holton and 29-year old Timothy Vassar are allegedly responsible for the rapes. During one of the rapes Vassar reportedly injected the victim with heroin before binding her and raping her.
All of the alleged crimes the gang is being accused of happened during the month of January. Other crimes include home invasion, kidnapping, robbery , and assault.
Dyer says the gang is mostly comprised of members who identify with Aryan Brotherhood and other white supremacist organizations. It is comprised of both male and female members.
The Grand Jury trial is slated to being on July 2nd. Chief Dyer says that some of the gang members could face multiple life sentences.
