More than 12,000 firefighters statewide are battling 17 large wildfires across California. 

Officials say these fires have burned over 200,000 acres and destroyed over 500 structures as of Sunday. 

A total 20,000 homes are threatened, and nearly 50,000 residents have been evacuated.

Cal Fire officials say hot and dry conditions persist throughout the state.

This, along with poor humidity recovery and high winds increases fire dangers. 

Southern California temperatures will remain above normal Sunday, with potential for isolated thunderstorms in some parts of the region.
