Between 1976 and 1986, the Golden State Killer committed 12 homicides, 45 rapes, and more than 120 residential burglaries in several California communities, according to the FBI. 

Authorities say his victims ranged in age from 13 to 41. 

Two women who survived the Golden State Killer’s attacks came forward to talk about how the attacks changed their lives. 

The first known victim encountered the suspect on June 18, 1976, according to the FBI. She was recorded during an interview in June 2016. 

“I remember feeling extremely threatened,” she recalled.
