Meghan ‘Monster’ Hawkins is one of the inmates profiled in the Netflix docu-series called ‘Jailbirds.’
Now she is back behind bars.
While she says her recognition from the show is what got her behind bars, she has no regrets.
On Friday, Hawkins was arrested in Elk Grove after police received a call about suspicious behavior at a bank on Bruceville Road.
Authorities were informed that a woman was trying to open a checking and savings account with an identification card.
But the name on the card was not her name.
Police say a witness recognized Hawkins from the series.
After the bank notified police, they found her in a reportedly stolen car.
Inside the car, police say there were several credit cards with different names.
“Those are my friends’ who’d left their wallet in the car,” Hawkins said.
Hawkins has been charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, unlawful use of personal information, and a probation violation.
According to Hawkins, she is innocent.
