SOUTH SAN JOSE (KRON) — Emergency crews are responding to a deadly car crash involving a cyclist in South San Jose, according to police.

A 52-year-old woman riding a bicycle was struck and killed near the intersection of Chynoweth Avenue and Vauxhall Circle around 8:05 a.m., police said.

A woman was driving a white Chevy pickup truck on Chynoweth Avenue when she hit the cyclist, according to police.

The woman driving the truck stayed at the scene and tried to perform CPR on the victim.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

No arrests have been made and police say that they do not believe the alcohol or drugs were involved in the accident.
