Christmas decorations stolen from San Jose homes

Christmas is less than a week away and the decorations are up on homes all over the Bay Area.

A San Jose family tells KRON4 that someone has been stealing Christmas decorations in the neighborhood.

One theft was last week in the Willow Glenn neighborhood and the thief was recorded on surveillance video.

The family that lives in the home put up their decorations just after Thanksgiving but there are a few things missing.

Surveillance video from a home along Gavota Avenue was recorded just after 4 a.m. on Dec. 11.

In the video, a shadowy figure can be seen walking onto the lawn and stealing four Christmas decorations, including a Mickey Mouse, a Minnie Mouse and a Rudolph.

The thief is in front of the house for just a few minutes and then leaves in a car.

Tim Lund lives here with his family and he was upset to find that someone had stolen his decorations, especially the Disney ones which are his kids’ favorites.

Lund called the police and filed a report online but so far, no suspects have been identified.

Lund says that many of his neighbors have also had their decorations stolen.

With Christmas just a few days away, Lund is doubtful his missing ornaments will be returned but he says this won’t dampen his family’s holiday spirit.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the San Jose Police Department.
