Concord Police assign officers to shopping centers to prevent holiday thefts

Concord Police are going to be assigning officers to work at different shopping centers over the next six weeks to help deter thefts or other criminal activity. 

Officials say during the holidays they anticipate this sort of activity, therefore, assigning officers to The Veranda, the Willows Shopping Center and the Sun Valley Mall.

On Tuesday night, Concord Police detained and arrested individuals on two separate occasions who had carts full of clothes that they had stolen. 

Authorities say that one person who was arrested had stolen over $2,000 worth of items, while the other had stolen more than $1,000 worth.
