CONTRA COSTA COUNTY (KRON) — A once under-used recycled water program in Contra Costa County is suddenly very popular.

And many are asking–why the sudden change? As many might expect, it’s all about the drought.

Filling up the tanks by 100s of gallons of recycled water, that’s what the people are doing here at the Central Contra Costa Sanitary District–and they’re filling up in record numbers, says the district’s recycled water program manager Melody labella.

Haaziq Madyun was in Martinez Wednesday to find out what the water program was all about.
