PETALUMA (KRON/BCN) — A Petaluma man was arrested on suspicion of evading police and driving without a license following a vehicle pursuit Sunday night, a police sergeant said.

An officer saw the driver of a silver Nissan with defective lighting equipment driving north on Lakeville Highway around 11:10 p.m., Petaluma police Sgt. Aaron Garihan said.

The driver, identified as 37-year-old Efrain Carrillo of Petaluma, did not yield to the officer’s traffic stop and slowly drove south on U.S. Highway 101, Garihan said.

Other police units joined the pursuit as Carrillo drove south for five miles until he exited on San Antonio Road, where he pulled into a private driveway at the end of the road, Garihan said.

Carrillo was arrested and booked into Sonoma County Jail under $5,000 bail.
