ALBANY (KRON) — Police are looking for the driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run in Albany, police said.

The collision happened Monday morning shortly before 4:30 a.m. on westbound Interstate 580 just west of the Buchanan Street onramp, according to police.

The pedestrian has been identified as 31-year-old San Pablo resident Luis Barba, according to the Alameda County coroner’s bureau.

Police got multiple calls of a body in the roadway. When they arrived, they found a pedestrian that was struck by a car and left in the roadway.

The driver had fled the scene and has not yet reported the incident.

Police are looking for a similar type vehicle, a 2015 or 2016 Dodge Dart and the location of the suspected damage (Oakland CHP)

While collecting evidence, police found parts of a car which may have hit Barba.

The CHP is asking for the public’s help in locating a laser blue, 2015 or 2016 Dodge Dart. The Dodge Dart would have collision damage on its front, near the right side.
