MODESTO, Calif. (AP) – The ex-husband of a woman killed with four others in a California home says the victim was a devoted doctor who cared for low-income patients.

Timothy Ripley says his ex-wife, Amanda Crews, and their 6-year-old daughter were found slain in a Modesto home Saturday.

A 30-year-old man, Martin Martinez, was arrested in the killings Sunday south of San Francisco. Police said all the victims are related.

Modesto police have not yet identified the victims – two women, and three girls age 6 and younger – or say how or when they died. A motive has not been released.

Ripley said he and Crews divorced two years ago and, shortly afterward, she began seeing Martinez.

He also said a 6-month-old daughter of Crews and Martinez was one of the five victims.
