Expected to be busiest Cyber Monday in Amazon history

Cyber Monday has begun and according to the National Retail Federation, 75-million people are expected to take advantage of the internet bargains.

Retailers, including Amazon, offer big savings online to wrap up the shopping weekend.

Amazon is preparing for what’s expected to be the largest Cyber Monday in history.

They are expecting to ship out thousands of items every second as the orders come in.

Last year, Amazon sent out 83-million packages, which is 961 items per second.

Amazon is expecting this year to be even busier.

In addition, the US Postal Service will start delivering mail as early as 5:30 a.m. starting in the coming weeks.

It comes as the USPS ramps up package deliveries for the holidays.

The postal service projects a double-digit increase in package volume this year, saying more than 900-million packages will be delivered between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day.

This year it is shifting focus from the busiest day to the busiest week which they say will be Dec. 17 to 23.
