CHICAGO (KRON) — A 31-year-old Chicago man is fighting for his life Friday following a brazen midday shooting, police said.

The attack was streamed live on the victim’s Facebook page Thursday. Several versions of the stream have gone viral.

The video shows the man recording himself standing at a street corner outside a convenience store in a residential neighborhood at around 4:50 p.m.

According to police, someone walked up to the victim and fired several shots, then jumped into a vehicle and fled the scene.

Over a dozen shots are heard in the video.

Moments before the shooting, the victim is heard saying into the camera: “I can’t be out here without the store being open, I need somewhere to duck and hide for cover.”

The victim is a documented gang member, according to a WGN-TV report, citing police.

He was hit multiple times and taken to the hospital, where he is in critical condition, the Chicago Tribune reports.VIDEO – WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT
