SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Police are investigating a significant increase of home burglaries in the Buri Buri neighborhood of South San Francisco, according to authorities.

Between Jan. 5 and Sunday, there have been four separate residential burglaries reported in the neighborhood, according to police.

Suspects are forcing entry through the rear of the homes, ransacking the interiors and fleeing the residences with valuables, police said.

The timeframes of the reported burglaries have ranged from day, evening and night.

Police do not yet have any detailed suspect information.

South San Francisco is not the only city to see a recent increase in burglaries, with an uptick also reported in cities along the Peninsula, police said.

Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant in reporting any suspicious behavior they may see. Anyone with information on the recent burglaries is asked to call the South San Francisco Police Department at (650) 877-8900.
