A man has been arrested after police pulled him over in American Canyon and found prescription pills, an AR-15 style rifle, and ammo magazines in the car on Tuesday morning.
Around 1:30 a.m. American Canyon Police pulled over a 2001 Mercedes 4-door for a vehicle code equipment violation.
The driver has been identified as 42-year-old Phillip Haas and had a woman in the passenger seat of his car.
The woman has not been identified but police say she was on formal probation with search terms.
Officials say it the initial search they found prescription pills to an unknown patient and ammo magazines to a firearm were found in the passenger seat area.
In the trunk, police found a loaded short-barreled, AR-15 style rifle.
Haas was found as having a Department of Justice firearms possession prohibition.
Police say he has been booked at the Napa County Department of Corrections with multiple charges including carrying a loaded firearm, possession assault weapon, concealed weapon, large capacity magazine, prohibited to possess firearm violation, and prohibited possession of a short barreled rifle.
