Man tries to buy weed in Fremont, gets wallet stolen

FREMONT (KRON) — A man was robbed while trying to buy marijuana Friday in Fremont, police said.

Two men in an older navy blue Honda pulled in behind a car wash at Fremont Boulevard and Chapel Way, according to police.

The victim attempted to make an exchange with the men after smelling marijuana when the Honda pulled up.

When the victim opened his wallet to purchase some, the suspects stole his wallet and left the scene, police said.

The first suspect was described as a Hispanic man between the ages of 25 and 27 standing 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing between 180 and 200 pounds. He had short black hair and brown eyes, police said.

The second suspect was described as a black man from 25 to 27 years old, roughly 5 foot 6 inches and 165 pounds. He had short, curly black hair, black eyes, and was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt and a dark striped shirt, according to police.Bay City News Service contributed to this report
