Barbara Lee loses House leadership bid to Hakeem Jeffries

Oakland Congresswoman Barbara Lee has been narrowly defeated in her bid for a leadership position in Congress.

Democrats in the House of Representatives voted Wednesday morning.

In a 123-113 vote, New York Congressman Hakeen Jefferies defeated Rep. Lee for the job. 

The Democratic Caucus chair is the No. 5 position in the House leadership.
