BARRON COUNTY, Wis. (CNN) - Residents of Barron County, Wisconsin are still talking about the safe return home of 13-year-old Jayme Closs who was found earlier this week, several months after she disappeared.
"In a bed in a safe house with a smile on her face, that's all I need, that's all I want for Jayme," says Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald.
That is the news Fitzgerald received Saturday morning from the family of Jayme, that the 13-year-old girl who was missing for 3 months is now back in her family's loving arms.
"We're going to work on Jayme's time,” says Fitzgerald. “We're going to work when Jayme wants to learn more about the case, we will tell her. We're going to take it at her pace. We're going to do whatever she needs to make this happen."
Fitzgerald says his team of professionals right now are focusing on what's best for Jayme's personal needs.
Jennifer Smith, one of Jayme's aunts, says words cannot describe the feeling she is having, knowing that her niece woke up in a safe place.
Jayme went missing after her parents were murdered but community members are now saying there is now a light at the end of the tunnel.
"This is like a miracle and I think everyone around the world is happy," says Sandy Vanderveer.
"Just wish we could do something for her right away but we know it's going to take time and healing, and something good is going to have to come out of this and it will, something good comes out of the bad,” says Andrea Schilke. “And Jayme we love you, we're so happy you're back."
Shayla Paxton, a friend of the Closs family, reads a letter from Jayme's cousin, Lindsey Smith, who wanted to share this to the world.
"I am so thankful for everyone and for our community, I am so thankful, my heart is so full, I am just amazed and beyond thankful for what everyone has done, I will never be able to show how thankful I am," Paxton read.
Paxton says Lindsey decorated a room and set everything up for Jayme, and is ecstatic her little cousin is home.
