OAKLAND (KRON) — A man was shot by an intruder that entered his Oakland Hills home Wednesday.
The burglary happened just before six p.m. on Chimney Rock.
Jeremy White, 30, was inside the home where he lives and takes care of his disabled mother, according to his aunt.
The suspect entered through a bedroom, according to the aunt. White was in the kitchen with his headphones on and did not hear the burglar.
He was shot in the chest a shot time later, she said.
White was transported to the hospital where he is expected to be fine, according to police.
Neighbors say the thieves burglarized and ransacked several homes in the area but only took certain items.
The suspect is still on the loose. Police have not released any descriptions at the time.
