People Behaving Badly: Lake Merritt – use it, don’t abuse it


OAKLAND (KRON) — Lake Merritt is meant for the enjoyment of all, but a few litterbugs are ruining the picturesque scenery with trash.  According to Waste Management officials, 30-40 cubic yards of trash picked up at the Lake each weekend by gardeners.

That’s an estimated $200,000 worth of trash pick up a year just for the weekend cleanup.
