SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — There was police activity in the area of 7th Street between Jessie Street and Mission Street Thursday afternoon, the San Francisco Department of Emergency Management said on X, formerly Twitter. Emergency crews are on the scene.
The area is the scene of a large protest demanding a ceasefire in the conflict between Israel and Hamas where activists are reportedly attempting to shut down Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi’s office and padlocking doors shut. San Francisco PD and Homeland Security units are reportedly on the scene.
A statement sent out by protest organizers called for an immediate ceasefire in the conflict and mentioned Democratic Rep. Cori Bush’s resolution for a ceasefire.
People are being advised to expect traffic delay, consider alternate routes and allow for additional travel time. No other details were immediately available.
