HALF MOON BAY (KRON) — Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a possible mountain lion sighting in Half Moon Bay Monday night.
The sighting was reported to San Mateo police around 9:35 p.m. near state Highway 1 and Miramontes Point Road.
Deputies are searched the area, but didn’t find the cat.
Police want to remind the public if you see a mountain lion not to approach it, especially if they are feeding their offspring.
They also advise not to go jogging or hiking when it’s dark out since that’s when mountain lions are most active, according to police.
