San Francisco police make 12 auto burglary arrests

San Francisco police have arrested 12 suspects in connection with auto burglaries in Japantown. 

According to the San Francisco Police Department, officers made arrests in eight cases that occurred between Jul. 26 and Aug. 15.

The arrests were part of a city wide crackdown to arrest auto burglars and reduce the number of of vehicle break-ins. 

Authorities say auto burglaries are down 20% year to date as of June 30, 2018.
