Santa Cruz vegetation fire grows to 8-acres, HWY 9 N closed

California Highway Patrol in Santa Cruz released a traffic alert on Highway 9 north of Paradise Park that will remain closed through the day on Sunday. 

A vegetation fire was reported late Saturday night which has been stopped at about five to eight acres. 

CHP says about 10 firetrucks were at the fire starting around 11 p.m.

CHP tweeted out around 6:25 a.m. on Sunday saying the fire had grown to five-acres.

CalFire continues to work to contain the fire at Paradise Park.
