A man was killed early Friday in a hit-and-run in Santa Rosa, and authorities are continuing to search for the suspect involved.
According to the Santa Rosa Police Department, the man was found unconscious on the westbound shoulder of Highway 12, west of Middle Rincon Road just before 1:30 a.m.
A passerby had flagged down an officer after discovering the victim, who appeared to have been hit by a car.
The victim died at the scene.
From evidence obtained at the scene, authorities determined the vehicle involved is a blue 2006 Mitsubishi Raider pickup truck missing a front passenger headlight and front grill.

Westbound lanes of Highway 12 west of Middle Rincon Road were closed earlier due to the investigation. All lanes in the area reopened just before 5 a.m.
