Smoke from Southern California fires moves into Bay Area

News

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Smoke from several wildfires burning in Southern California is moving into the Bay Area, according to the National Weather Service.

Residents in Monterey County will see the smoke first, NWS officials said. Monterey already saw a smoky sunrise Thursday morning.

An air mass trajectory shows the smoke as it moves up into the Bay Area.

It is expected to create a haze in the atmosphere as the fires continue to burn.
